What does the dungeon-set datamine show?
Wowhead’s set-bonus datamine reports dungeon-set bonuses at 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 pieces, replacing the familiar 2, 4, 6 and 8-piece pattern. The source warns that Season of Discovery effects also occur in the underlying data. Treat this as a preliminary preview, not a confirmed loot or upgrade guide.
Find your class’s dungeon sets
The source lists these base and upgraded set families. This is an index of names, not confirmation that the old acquisition chains are unchanged.
| Class | Tier 0 family | Tier 0.5 family |
|---|---|---|
| Druid | Wildheart Raiment | Feralheart Raiment |
| Hunter | Beaststalker Armor | Beastmaster Armor |
| Mage | Magister’s Regalia | Sorcerer’s Regalia |
| Paladin | Lightforge Armor | Soulforge Armor |
| Priest | Vestments of the Devout | Vestments of the Virtuous |
| Rogue | Shadowcraft Armor | Darkmantle Armor |
| Shaman | The Elements | The Five Thunders |
| Warlock | Dreadmist Raiment | Deathmist Raiment |
| Warrior | Battlegear of Valor | Battlegear of Heroism |
Compare the whole equipped set
The decision is not simply whether a new item has better individual stats. Write down the current equipment and the bonuses actually active in the client. Then create the proposed combination and identify every bonus gained or lost. Finally consider the job you need the gear to do: surviving a pull, healing through a long fight or dealing damage to a particular target.
A hypothetical player with three pieces who equips a fourth may gain both an item upgrade and another bonus. Replacing one of those pieces immediately afterwards may remove that bonus. This illustrates a threshold calculation, not a claim about any particular class’s best equipment.
An upgrade worksheet for your group
Use the same conditions for both combinations. A short fight with full resources and a long fight with recovery breaks can produce different conclusions.
| Question | Useful evidence |
|---|---|
| What is equipped? | Exact item names and set count, not just the set family. |
| Which bonuses work? | The live tooltip and a repeatable observation. |
| What changes? | Stats, active thresholds and resource or defensive effects. |
| What does it cost? | Verified acquisition effort and competing uses for the time or materials. |
| Does it suit the role? | The player’s actual tanking, healing or damage assignment. |
Agree how partial sets affect loot requests
Ask players to explain whether a piece completes a meaningful combination. That gives the group context, but it need not automatically override your agreed loot policy. A complete set can still be less useful for tonight’s role than a mixed outfit.
Keep an off-role collection separate from the main-role plan. Do not require someone to equip a full matching appearance if the group has not established that its effects help. Cosmetic preferences and performance decisions can both be respected when they are stated clearly.
Where do these sets drop in Forever?
This preview does not establish drop locations, rates or the final upgrade quests. We will need Forever-specific acquisition evidence before publishing a farming route. Classic guides are a lead to investigate rather than a guarantee.
For raid appearances and role-specific set previews, use the separate tier-set article. This page focuses on comparing dungeon equipment and understanding partial-set decisions.
