WoW Forever race and class combinations: new choices explained

See the six announced new race/class combinations and reported Skyborne options, then choose a character that fits your group.

Six newly announced combinations

PC Gamer’s panel report lists six announced additions. This table covers those additions, not the complete returning race/class matrix.

Reported Skyborne class options

The Warcraft Forever Skyborne guide reports Warrior, Hunter, Rogue and Druid for both factions, Shaman for Horde, and Mage for Alliance. The Reddit recap calls the race “Skyborn” and lists the same class choices. These options are attributed to community coverage here.

Choose with your friends in the right order

Start with the group you intend to join. Confirm its faction and ruleset before comparing character options. Next decide which role you actually want to play, then choose a race that offers that class. An attractive character concept is easier to keep when it fits the people you want to play with.

Example: one friend wants to try a new class combination while another is committed to an existing character idea. Write both preferences down and find a compatible plan before either invests time in levelling. Keep an alternative only if that person genuinely wants to play it.

Avoid choosing from an unsupported racial ranking

This guide does not rank races by damage or assign a best race to each spec. A claim about one racial ability is not enough to compare complete characters across encounters. Choose aesthetics, class access and group compatibility now; revisit numerical optimisation when the relevant evidence exists.

Before creating the character

Verify the choices and access requirements shown in character creation. Community tables can be useful while planning, but the available options in the relevant client are the decisive check. If a choice is unavailable, record why before changing your group’s plan.

  • Confirm faction and ruleset with the organiser.
  • Record your intended class and preferred role separately.
  • Check any account or edition requirement directly before buying access.
  • Keep undecided players visible in the roster instead of assigning them a class.
